The Vanishing Charm of Sending and Receiving a Handwritten Thank You Note

The new year is upon us. Like many of you, my family and I received gifts from friends and family we didn't see.  While an email, text, or phone call is a fantastic way to say thank you, there is something so timeless and classy about receiving a handwritten note.

As a child, I was raised in a house where handwritten thank yous were mandatory. As I got older and life got busier, I unintentionally stopped writing thank you notes by hand. Instead, I opted to send a quick text or short email. It wasn't until I received a handwritten note from a friend via good old-fashioned snail mail that I changed my mind. I was so charmed and delighted to receive the note among the usual bills and junk. This year, I hope to pass on the joy and sparkle it gave me.
