Elm City Botanicals was started by a PhD student who (clearly) wasn't busy enough. She began to make handmade soap and candles because she had a limited budget and wanted to incorporate more natural and sustainably minded ingredients in her life. Years later, after perfecting the art and science of soap and candle making with the help of other PhD students, Elm City Botanicals is open to the public.
